finding highpaying keywords

Postby beeblebrox » Sun Nov 09, 2008 4:53 am

I tried the following because I´m lazy:

Went to ezinearticles, choose the business category, choose a subtopic and copied the url from the browser.

I then pasted it into googles keyword tool in my adwords account and had it obtain all the keywords from that page.

I then had them sorted after cpc, some of them way above $100.

I copied all the keywords with a cpc over $20 and ran them through KE only to find the cpc MUCH lower, nothing worth dealing with...

Where does this difference come from?

Is it because my google adwords account knows I´m crap, and wants me to pay through my nose to "rank" for these keywords?

Or does it have to do with broad match versus exact match?

I would have thought this method to be solid, maybe someone can tell me how to modify it to get it to work properly?

I want to automate this process as much as possible, so any help is appreciated!

Jacob

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doh!

Just discovered I had it set to use Danish currency in my adwords account....

This method might still work, I´ll play with it some more and report back if it works :)
