I'm applying for the free trading account at myforex.com, but the app form is just sitting there doing nothing after I click submit. Do I fill in absolutely everything, including the documents to be uploaded, or just the redlined items that say "required"? It seems I have to scan my passport and utility bill and upload those? Wow... all that for a demo account?

no id needed to open up a demo account, refer to the ones in the videos.

but regarding the fund, yes, you do need to submit the id

I am interested in joining the course but I have to get the money first. I plan on joining the fx fund so maybe that will help me pay for your training course. I would really like to learn this business but how much do I need to know about the forex before I puchase the forex videos? I have read "the complete idiots guide to forex" LOL thats about all the education I have in it so far.

you don't need to know anything about forex to join the fund.. the fx course is there so you can have something else under your belt should all else fail... Forex for me has been just another alternative I can turn to as a profession... as the saying goes, which can be quite suited in this regard, never stick all your eggs in one basket...
