I've got content, now I want to climb the rankings

Postby JakeThePeg » Sat Aug 22, 2009 11:13 pm

I have spent the last month gathering content for http://lagunabeachstays.com, and now have the articles scheduled to publish every 1-2 days.

Since the content is written based upon keyword research, I actually thought that I would slowly climb the SERP rankings organically, but it seems this is not the case at all! I get a steady 15 visitors each day, that is all, and the trend is not increasing.

I've managed to get a few backlinks, by emailing web masters of relevant sites, and also submitted 2 articles to ezinearticles linking back to my site. I also use social bookmarking tools on and off, but have had limited success with them...

Have you got any other suggestions so that I can start climbing the rankings, and actually have a chance of monetizing my site?

just keep getting backlinks, from what you have said you dont have enough, high rankings do not come from a few backlinks to a page.

Ok, thanks. Is it enough to be getting backlinks to the homepage, or should I be targetting individual pages?

Also, what are some ethical backlinking strategies?
